During the Trojan War, Paris got shot by a poison arrow and was in need of cure. He asked his people to carry him to Mount Ida where Oenone, his wife when he was a youth lives and asked for help. She did not help him and soon he died. His companions placed him on firewood and set him on fire, then Oenone jumped into the fire and their ashes couldn't be separated. The ashes were placed in a golden cup.
