Written Narration : Discovery of the New Worlds

The Cid was a brave and merciful man of war.  He was very kind to poor people.  One day he saw a poor beggar and brought him back.  He let the beggar eat some of his food and let him stay in his room.  At night he saw the beggar was gone but saw a form with white clothes.  He said that he could wish for anything he wants.  He wish to be feared by Moor and Christians.

King Hothgar built a great and splendid hall to feast in.  He invited the Goths, including Beowulf.  The Goths sailed across the sea for quite some time before arriving.  When they reached, they were greeted and the king set out while the Goths guard the hall.  One day, a Grendel broke into the hall.  He seized some men and ate them so Beowulf grabbed the Grendel and they fought.  The Grendel was killed and the king rejoiced.

When King Richard died John, his brother became king.  He was very bad and cruel to the people and when he knew that another of his brother had a son named Arthur, he wanted Hubert to burn his eyes.  When Hubert wanted to burn his eyes, he coughed a little.  Arthur said gently to him that if he were ill Arthur wanted to nurse him.  Hubert was touched and lied to King John that Arthur was already dead.  King John rejoiced but the people grieved.  When they knew it was only a lie, everybody was very happy, even the king because he had very little soldiers left.

Mandela knows how to help others see their character by how they appear.  Mandela always wears neatly and choose his shirts carefully for other's first impression.  Mandela always loves clothes.  One day in the hotel Mandela asked his assistant to find an iron because his clothes are wrinkled.  When he first became a lawyer he immediately went to find a taylor.

In the morning Claudio and the unknown lady got married.  When they were at the friar, the lady took out her mask and it was Hero herself.  Claudio couldn't believe it because he thought that she was dead.  Benedict also wanted to marry Beatrice that same day so two couples had their wedding together.

Written Narration : Discovery of New Worlds

When King Edward was ruling, they were two enemies, Harold and William.  When King Edward died, they wanted the throne.  Harold was very king and noble and wise, and also good to the people. William was also very brave and can solve difficulties but he is a tyrant.  Harold became king and William was angry.  He forced his men to build ships and when they sailed to England, they fought until they reached Harold's main guards.  William's men shot arrows into the air and it landed on King Harold, and he died.

King Henry has a good friend called Thomas.  They always travel together around the kingdom.  One day they saw a beggar.  The king snatch Thomas cape and gave it to the beggar.  They laughed and rode away.  One day, the king asked Thomas to be a bishop.  Thomas warned him that they will get into many quarrels.  One day, the leader of the bishop said that people cannot simply be bishops without his permission. The king said that he has a higher position so he could choose.  Thomas sided the bishop leader instead of the king.  After that the king said some angry words and four soldiers accidentally heard it.  They thought it was real and killed Thomas.  The king was sorry for Thomas but the soldiers only got a slight punishment.

Mandela not only leads from the front but also leads from the back.  One day, he asked the author whether he herded buffaloes before.  He told the author that in Africa they use democracy.  The leader gets opinions from the people and the council before making the final decision.  Mandela also listens to both sides neutrally.  No one knows which side he choses.  That is leading from the back, not herding buffaloes from the back.

Written Narration : Discovery of New Worlds

Charlemagne was the son of Pepin, and was the king of Franks.  He gathered all the Anglo-Saxon soldiers and went to conquer the Lombards, and old enemy that fought with his father.  Later when Charlemagne reached the border of Spain, he left his nephew, Roland, to be the commander of the rear guard.  When they were climbing the mountain, they saw their enemy below them and above.  His friend asked him to sound the horn to call the king back, but Roland do not want to bring disgrace to the kingdom.  His army urged him to blow the horn, so he blew it loudly.  Charlemagne heard it, but the traitor next to him said it was the sound of the wind, and Roland blew the second time.  The traitor said it was Roland hunting in the woods.  He continue to fight on and blew the third time.  The king was sad because he delayed so he set full speed back to Roland.  Roland died facing his enemies and Spain.

"Beowulf", a not so famous story book has gone through a fiery adventure.  It was and Anglo-Saxon book and is an old tale.  Long ago when James I and Charles I sat on the throne, an antiquary named Robert Bruce Cotton collected antiques and books.  Among them was "Beowulf".  He found it very hard to return books back to the library.  Soon, his library became famous but was taken away.  His son got it back but his great-great-grandson donated it to the nation.  In 1731 the library caught fire and "Beowulf" was still not well known yet.  A few years after the fire, "Beowulf" was found and put at the British Museum.  After many years, a Danish translated the book into English.

Written Narration : An Island Story

One day King Henry's son, Prince William went out to sea with his men and one of his sister.  Suddenly there is a terrible storm and the big ship overturned and started drowning.  The prince taking a few men left.  Suddenly the prince heard his sister cried for help and he commanded the soldiers to turn back and rescue her.  When she is rescued other men tried to climb the small boat and it overturned.  Prince Henry drowned and soon only one person was left.  When some fishermen fed him they fed him and gave him shelter.  Soon everyone knows about the terrifying news but the king. He loved the prince the most, and when he heard the story he fell to the ground.  The other princess, Matilda was crowned queen.
